2nd "Talk to Me About... Health" Meeting

On April 30th, I attended the 2nd "Talk to Me About...Health" Meeting – "Neuroscience for All: Mind, Education, and Art", organized by the Municipio de Avis, in collaboration with the Associação Humanitária de Apoio aos Diabéticos do Concelho de Avis, where I had the privilege of giving a talk about ageing-associated neurodegenerative disorders. It was an honor to return to the Municipality where I grew up, which played a pivotal role in shaping the person and professional I am today, and to be among people who continue to inspire me deeply.

Events like this, focused on health literacy, not only help to promote better disease prevention but also empower the population to make informed decisions that can positively impact their health.

I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the Municipio de Avis for the tribute I received, which reflects recognition of the work I have been doing at MIA Portugal - University of Coimbra.

Future generations, who now attend the same school I once did in Avis, play in the same playgrounds I played in, and dream in the same classrooms I once dreamed in... My message to them is: always follow your dreams, because with hard work, persistence, and dedication, anything is possible!

Thank you all for the kindness and affection you showed me. It was a beautiful and truly happy day.
