Innovative Therapies – 5th CiBB Retreat

The 5th CiBB Retreat on Innovative Therapies took place on September 19, 2025, from 09:00 to 19:00, at the Centro Náutico de Montemor-o-Velho.

This year’s retreat brought together researchers, students, and collaborators from CiBB for a full day of scientific presentations, discussions, and networking opportunities in an inspiring environment.


The program featured:

  • “Meet your thematic line” sessions with short presentations from CiBB researchers, where Hugo Fernandes presented the ACT Lab;

  • Interactive discussions on the role of scientists in the local community;

  • A Science4CIM Roundtable, moderated by journalist Ana Margalho (Diário de Coimbra), which focused on strengthening the link between the University and the region;

  • Flash card presentations showcasing innovative projects from CiBB teams;

  • Poster sessions, networking activities, and a keynote lecture;

  • The day concluded with a social program, fostering collaboration in a relaxed atmosphere.



Hugo Fernandes, representing the ACT Lab, delivered an oral presentation highlighting the group’s ongoing research projects and contributions to the Innovative Therapies line. His talk showcased the multidisciplinary approaches being developed at the ACT Lab to advance biomedical innovation.


The retreat proved to be a dynamic and engaging event, celebrating both scientific excellence and community engagement.
