Cláudia Deus, Cristina Blanco, and Sandra Pinhanços participated in the training programme “From Lab Notes to M(I)Arket Quotes,” held from April 13 to 16 at the Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) in Coimbra.

This hands-on programme aimed to help researchers transform scientific ideas into real-world impact. Over four days, participants explored key aspects of innovation and technology transfer, including identifying opportunities for research valorisation, protecting intellectual property, developing go-to-market strategies, and effectively pitching scientific ideas.

The course brought together students, technicians, and researchers interested in translating their research into solutions that may contribute to healthy ageing. Working in teams, participants were encouraged to develop and present research concepts with potential societal and market impact.

The project developed by the ACT Lab team, StratamiR, was distinguished as the winning project of the programme, receiving the “MIA–IPN Innovation Award 2026.” This recognition highlights the project’s potential to translate scientific research into real market applications.

Participation in this initiative allowed ACT Lab researchers to further strengthen their skills in innovation, entrepreneurship, and research commercialization, reinforcing the importance of bridging fundamental science with practical applications.
